Incursions by hostile Creep lifeforms is a way of life for all people in this retro-futuristic ocean world. After a disaster she can barely remember, Six was delivered to a far-away settlement and remained there for ten years, distantly supported by Clubs, the designated survivor of that accident which separated them.

When her domicile in the settlement is destroyed and with nobody to take her in, Six receives a proposal for her to rejoin Clubs' fleet, and she reluctantly agrees to come along.

Having second thoughts about reuniting, Six bides her time at the edge of the fleet to think things over, but time is running short ..
